Canadian Work Permits
Monday, July 14th, 2008Each year, thousands of persons living outside Canada apply for a work permit to allow them to be employed in Canada. The application process for these permits usually occurs at a visa office outside of Canada, or sometimes at the air port or port of entry. Once the applicant finds employment, a temporary work visa will be issued that allows the immigrant to work in Canada for a period of time.
The application must be reviewed Canadian Human resources department before the application for a work permit can be made. The employer is required to demonstrate that they were not able to find a suitable Canadian citizen to fill the position before they are allowed to hire a skilled immigrant.
